If you would like to audition for an opportunity to perform on stage during this year’s event, send us a video of you performing your talent. Here are the basic guidelines, which can also be found in the Agelive Newsroom:
- Acts must be no longer than 3 ½ minutes, no exceptions
- All performances should be in good taste. Acts containing music, lyrics, gestures, costumes or material that is found offensive will not be permitted
- No lip-synching
- If your act is chosen to participate in the AgelWorld Talent Show, you must attend a dress rehearsal that will be held Thursday, September 3rd.
- You must use the same piece in the talent show originally performed in the audition video. You may enhance or take away from your piece, but it must be the same material you auditioned and submitted. Remember to keep within the 3 ½ minute timeframe.
- Contestants will be responsible for costume/clothing, make up, and music or musical assistance.
- Judges will base their evaluation in the following categories:
1. Showmanship
2. Stage presence
3. Creativity
4. Quality of act
5. Audience reaction
6. Overall performance
- Go to www.youtube.com
- Log in to the system by clicking “log in.” To create a new account select “sign up.” You must have a valid account to submit videos to YouTube.
- Click the “Upload Videos” text link.
- Enter your video’s title. Then type a detailed description of the video’s content.
- If you wish, you may create tags for your video. This will allow people to find your video by typing in key words, just like a search engine.
- Click a relevant category to file your video in.
- Select the appropriate language of your video.
- Click “Continue Uploading.”
- Select “Choose File.” A pop up window will appear. Select your video from your hard drive. Then click “Choose.”
- Please choose the “public” privacy option for the video you submit for the talent show. At this point you can choose to send this video to family and friends, but definitely make sure to submit it to us at ageltalent@agel.com.
- Click “upload video,” and you are finished. If you forget to send the video to us, make sure to access your video on YouTube, copy the url in the address bar and paste it to an email. Then send it to us at ageltalent@agel.com. Or mail your DVD video to:
